Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actor. Maggie Grace is most well-known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively on ABC's Lost television series. After her parents' divorce her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001 despite struggling with finances. The TV film Murder in Greenwich, in which she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the role she played in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day version of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. She plays Faith who's an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. She is part of the Gyllenhaal clan and the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was an early teenager, when she appeared in small roles in several films from her father. She also worked with her brother in 2001's famous film Donnie Darko. Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the romantic erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and in the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. She had numerous commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center. However, it was her role as Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). After her successful performance as a mother who is not married in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Then she continued to play in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (12). Her other roles includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) as well as actors in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as the role of the Kindergarten Teacher. The debut of Gyllenhaal as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
